Air-Rights TOD Thesis

2013

An investigation of Transit-Oriented Development as a catalyst for increased density and Air-

 

Rights development in the urban realm. This thesis proposes air-rights as a model for sustainable

 

transportation development along existing transit corridors. The transportation corridor is leveraged

 

as a catalyst for urban air-rights development, and a case study is proposed at a transit node.

 

Air-Rights

2012

A collective investigation of Air Rights development with particular attention to Boston. The book

 

explores historical context, design determinants, and typological conditions. It focuses on the storied

 

air-rights development over the 23 air-rights parcels above the I-90 (‘The Pike’) of Downtown Boston.
